![]() Teams at Nextdoor routinely use data from countless experiments to inform product improvements. We believe fast iteration on our products and features is a great way to bring better value to our neighbors around the world. One of Nextdoor’s core values is “Experiment and Learn Quickly”, and one of our engineering principles is “ Move Fast - Build Iteratively”. In this article, we share our experience building Launch Control, Nextdoor’s combined feature flagging and experiment configuration tool. ![]() This combo is great, and it's so close to perfect it hurts.but if I can't find a way to do this I'm returning both and waiting for the APC40 MK2.How engineers configure and deploy A/B tests and feature flags So, anyone know if linking these two is possible? So that the Launch Control follows any navigation on the Launchpad? Or at least showing a second "red box" for the Launch Control? In other words they don't link and there's no visual feedback for which set of tracks the Launch Control is using besides the "Controlling tracks 2-9" message that briefly flashes when I change the Launch Control. I have to move the Launch Control to 2-9 as well. ![]() If I use the Launchpad to move to tracks 2-9 the Launchpad obviously does it's thing.the Launch Control however, stays on 1-8. I can even switch templates on the Launch Control and use the knobs for devices. Fantastic, everything works, I can pan and change volume on any of the tracks, start/stop clips, etc. Let's say I have 9 tracks and I'm looking at tracks 1-8 on the Launchpad and the Launch Control. Both are incredibly well built and the visual feedback and integration with Live is amazing.īut.there's one problem - a deal breaker actually. I got a Launchpad S which is awesome, but like a lot of people I instantly wanted knobs or faders for pan and volume. So I got a Launch Control, which is also awesome. ![]() so I'm really late to this thread but I've been thinking about this (sort of obsessing actually) for the past week. I personally think the launchpad duo takes the cake bc of Launchpad's user 1 mode which allows you to turn your launchpad into a 64 pad drum rack to bang out beats, or as a 64 pad midi controller to play live with your vst's to record into clips on the fly. I also think you would be more than fine with APC 40. I think the Launchpad combo takes the cake bc it can do all and more than just the APC 40. It really depends on preference, but I would suggest Launchpad and Launch Control. Launchpad and LaunchControl are BUS powered and they're both ridiculously light weight. I love programming drum beats or synth lines on the fly by banging away on my launchpad via 'user 1' mode. A major drawback is that you can't use a APC40 as a drumpad, or as a MIDI controller while you play in real time a virtual instrument. Well, the APC 40 does have some draw backs. So you may say well I'll get APC40 and have everything in one unit. This problem is now solved with the addition of Launch Control, however, you can still get around this, albeit with buttons versus a knob, via 'user 2' mode on launchpad. The only thing I was displeased about what the lack of knobs/pots. I initially purchased a launchpad and I love it. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I have a launchpad and i recently bought a Launch Control.
